I offer individual lessons on photography. Topics vary depending on students’ skill set, timeline and desired outcome. Material covered may include: camera techniques, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, sequencing, editing and project development. Through interactive online sessions, students hone skills to bring their photographic practice to the next level.

iPhones feature a high quality photographic ecosystem. Because it also fits in your pocket, it is a powerful tool that can be used to capture your creative vision and daily life. Topics include: optimal camera settings, lens options, Portrait mode, Live Photos and strategies for capturing unique images. We will also discuss best practices for utilizing the built-in Apple editing software. Participants learn techniques that level up their photographic skills.

Please note: This is a beginner course, open to all skill levels. We will be using iOS 17 operating system. Compatible models are iPhone 11 or later.

This course lays the foundation for a streamlined digital printing workflow. Topics include: pre-visualization; effective methods for using Lightroom Classic software; scanning negatives and techniques for using Photoshop to achieve local adjustments. Image resolution, resizing, sharpening, ICC profiles and paper choices will also be discussed. Through class critiques and working in the Digital Media Lab participants will develop the skills to further realize their creative vision from digital file to final print.
