About the Space

The Nancy Willard and Eric Lindbloom Artist-Run Project Space is located at 133 College Avenue in Poughkeepsie, New York.

The Nancy Willard and Eric Lindbloom Artist-Run Project Space is an artist-run, temporary exhibition space open from August 2021 – May 2022. The exhibition space is housed in the former home of poet, novelist, children’s book author and teacher Nancy Willard (1936 – 2017) and photographer Eric Lindbloom (1934 – 2020), a couple who lived there for more than fifty years. Honoring their individual and shared artistic legacy and lives, the goal is to create a community center that connects people through exhibitions and projects centering emerging artists and curators.

Additionally, the exhibition space serves as the primary site for both artists’ archives. James Lindbloom, Nancy and Eric’s son, and Sasha Louis Bush, Eric’s former student and director of the Nancy Willard and Eric Lindbloom Archives, created the Nancy Willard and Eric Lindbloom Project Space following Eric’s death in April of 2020.

James and Sasha have decided to use Nancy and Eric’s home as an exhibition space this upcoming year before the house is sold in June of 2022. The unique space presents opportunities for experimentation and unconventional exhibitions.
